Our school year is off to a busy and exciting start! Classes began on September 2, and our staff and students have been off to the races ever since.
At the elementary school, students and staff have been working hard to establish routines and dive into learning. Students have already completed the STAR test, giving our teachers valuable information to help target specific skills and support maximum growth in both reading and writing. We also had an AMAZING turn out for our Open House on September 11th. Nachos were eaten, Kona Ice was consumed, and families were able to meet their child's teacher and see the classrooms. Thank you to all who attended!
At the junior high and high school, students are engaged in their classes and working on expanding their horizons. A special highlight was when our 6th graders attended Outdoor School at Camp Meriweather in Cloverdale this September—they had an amazing time! Homecoming week will be the week of October 6th. The Leadership class and ASB are scheduling fun events for our school and community. Be on the lookout for more information on our website and Social Media pages.
We are always looking for volunteers to help us in our classrooms and on field trips. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the front office of either school for a volunteer packet.
We are so grateful to our staff and students for helping make the start of the year such a success.
And finally, a big thank you to the North Santiam Eagles for their generous donation of school supplies to both SES and SJHHS, as well as all of the community support of our staff and students. Your support is truly appreciated!
